Founded by Roger Farrow in 1989, City Homes began building single family homes in the inner city of Houston, and in West University, Bellaire, and the Heights.  Townhouses were added to the mix in 1998 when a twelve unit project was constructed in Montrose.  In 2000 a four unit town home project was developed and built in Rice Military near Memorial Park.  Since then City Homes of Houston has concentrated its building efforts in Bellaire, Ayershire and Braes Heights.

Roger Farrow is a Certified Graduate Master Builder through the National Institute of Builders and is active in his community and in the building industry. He has also acheived an 'Aging in Place' certification.  Over the years he has been an active member of the Greater SW Houston Chamber of Commerce, serving on the Board of Directors and as Chairman of the Economic Development Committee. City Homes is a member of the Greater Houston Builders Association (GHBA) and the Custom Builders Council, a division of GHBA. Roger has served as a Director on the Board of the Texas Association of Builders, GHBA and the Custom Builders Council. He was also the program Chair for the Custom Builders Council and was co-op chair for several years. In 2005 Roger was honored as the GHBA Custom Builder of the Year.  He is currently chairman of the In-Town Task Force, a GHBA committee which interfaces with the City of Houston on Urban issues.
